Weather to gradually improve from this afternoon

KATHMANDU: Rainfall and snowfall across various parts of the country are expected to gradually subside from this afternoon, with weather conditions likely to improve, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The Department said the low-pressure system, which is the remnant of Cyclone Arnab, is currently positioned near western Nepal.

Moderate rain and snowfall are occurring in many places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces, while some areas of Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces are also experiencing precipitation. Light rain has been reported in some parts of Madhes Province.

According to a special weather bulletin issued by the Department, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, as well as light to moderate snowfall, is likely in the high-hilly and mountainous regions until this afternoon.

The Department said the impact of the weather system would gradually weaken thereafter, bringing an improvement in weather conditions.
