KATHMANDU: Thirty-three of the 48 people injured in the Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa and brought to the National Trauma Center for treatment have been discharged after their health conditions improved.
According to District Police Range Kathmandu spokesperson Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Thapa, 48 injured people were rescued and brought to the National Trauma Center. Of them, 33 have been discharged following treatment.
SP Thapa said 15 injured people are still receiving treatment at the National Trauma Center. According to the hospital administration, the health condition of most of those undergoing treatment is normal.
Nepal Police has established Citizen Assistance Centers at Bir Hospital and the National Trauma Center to provide information to relatives of those injured in the Bhotekoshi flood and people who have lost contact with their family members.
According to police, relatives of missing or uncontacted individuals have been visiting the assistance centers to inquire about the condition of injured family members and register details of those with whom they have lost contact. Relatives who have reached the hospital are also being provided with information about their family members’ health conditions and treatment.
Search and rescue operations are continuing in the flood-affected areas, where the Bhotekoshi disaster caused significant loss of life and property, police said.
The concerned agencies are continuing efforts to treat rescued victims, coordinate with relatives of those affected or missing, and provide necessary assistance.
Rescue and relief operations have been intensified, with priority being given to searching for missing persons, treating the injured and providing necessary support to affected families.
