KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting held in Parsa has made a four-point decision to maintain peace, security, social harmony and public order in the district.

The meeting, chaired by Parsa Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal, who is also the chairperson of the District Security Committee, decided that all stakeholders would play an active role in maintaining peace and security, according to lawmaker Hari Pant.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the recent incidents in Sunsari, Siraha and other parts of the country, along with the current security situation in Parsa.

The meeting appealed to religious leaders and representatives of Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist and Christian communities to publicly encourage their respective communities to maintain patience, tolerance, communal harmony and peace.

It also decided to organise a peace rally in Birgunj under the leadership of political parties, local governments, civil society organisations and religious groups to promote brotherhood and social harmony.

The meeting urged local media outlets, FM radios, newspapers, social media platforms and various organisations not to publish or broadcast content that could spread fear and negativity in society.

It also decided to request the entire media sector through the Federation of Nepali Journalists Parsa chapter to prioritise news and messages that promote peace, social unity and harmony.

The meeting called on everyone to contribute from their respective areas to maintain peace, security and social harmony amid the current situation in the country.
