NC row: Deuba faction holding CWC meeting today

KATHMANDU: The Central Working Committee (CWC) elected at the 14th General Convention of former Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s faction is meeting today.

The meeting, convened by outgoing Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka, is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Smart Party Palace in Dhumbarahi. Provincial working committee presidents who had not recognized last December’s special general convention have also been invited.

Khadka, acting in his capacity as party president following the arrest of Congress leader and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, called the CWC meeting. He has also scheduled a separate meeting of district presidents next Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Deuba-Shekhar group held a program in Maharajgunj on Monday to congratulate and extend best wishes to newly elected members of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly.
