KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has said it will incorporate “Vision-10” in its manifesto to be unveiled for the upcoming elections.
Speaking at a press conference held at the party office in Sanepa on Saturday, party spokesperson Dev Raj Chalise said the manifesto will reflect the country’s ground realities, with a focus on good governance, development and practical action plans.
According to Chalise, the Congress manifesto will not be limited to aspirations and commitments alone. It will also clearly outline the resources, means and mechanisms required for implementation.
“The manifesto will not only list programs, but will also explain how resources will be managed to implement them,” he said.
Chalise said the party is currently collecting suggestions from districts across the country during the manifesto drafting process and that inputs from local levels, constituencies and districts will be consolidated and aligned with national needs.
“The Congress will bring a manifesto that reflects its capacity, practicality and implementable programs,” he said, adding that it will seek to address the sentiments of all classes, regions and communities.
He claimed the manifesto will address both current challenges and future direction, presenting a credible option to the people. According to him, the party is preparing to present a clear roadmap for stability, accountability and inclusive development.
On the occasion, Chalise also cautioned against turning the country into a laboratory in the name of “new tests.” He said political institutions that receive public mandate never become outdated, noting that only individuals grow old with time.
“Parties do not become old; ideas must be renewed and leadership must be refreshed,” Chalise said, adding that around the world, new leadership emerges within established parties, helping build a reliable future.
Stating that citizens’ votes are decisive in a democratic system, he said the upcoming election will determine the country’s future course.
“The mandate given by citizens shapes the nation’s future,” he said, adding that the Nepali Congress has entered the electoral race with the belief that it represents the country’s future.
