KATHMANDU: A western low-pressure system is influencing Nepal’s weather, bringing fog to parts of the Terai and increasing the likelihood of light snowfall in some high hilly and mountainous areas.
Mist and fog have been observed in some parts of the Terai, while hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing partial cloud cover, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.
The Division stated that mist and fog are likely to persist in many parts of the Terai this afternoon. Partial cloud cover is expected in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear. There is also a possibility of light rain or snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi and Gandaki.
According to the Division, mist and fog may continue in a few places in the Terai during the night. Partial cloud cover is forecast for Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, with mainly clear weather expected elsewhere.
