Trucks stranded in Kalanki after flood damages road at Krishnabhir

KATHMANDU: Trucks and other cargo vehicles heading out of Kathmandu have been stranded in the Valley after a flood damaged the road at Krishnabhir along the Kathmandu-Muglin road section, blocking a major highway connecting the capital with the rest of the country.

A long line of cargo vehicles has been seen in the Kalanki-Balkhu area following the closure of the highway.

The road was damaged after floodwaters from the Bhotekoshi River increased the flow of the Trishuli River, causing erosion along the highway at Krishnabhir.
