NUWAKOT: Excavators and dozers have been brought to Battar in Nuwakot as part of efforts to rescue people trapped in the Upper Trishuli-3A hydropower project area following the floods.
According to the Nepali Army, the heavy equipment will be dismantled at Battar and transported by helicopter to the affected site.
The Army said a team including Nepali Army personnel has been working around the clock to rescue people affected by the floods.
Despite the Bhotekoshi flood last night, rescue operations have continued, the Army said. It added that a breakthrough has recently been made at the tunnel entrance, allowing search and rescue operations to begin for those believed to be trapped inside.
