RSP lawmaker Amresh Kumar Singh calls for unity to ensure Madhesh’s development

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader and House of Representatives member Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh has called on all communities in Madhesh to work together to ensure the region’s sustainable development.

Referring to recent incidents of violence and unrest in Madhesh, Singh said repeated protests, ethnic tensions and religious conflicts have pushed the region back by decades.

In a Facebook post, he said violence and communal conflict benefit no one and instead undermine Madhesh’s progress.

Singh said recurring unrest has damaged physical infrastructure, disrupted academic sessions and brought businesses to a standstill, dealing a major setback to the region’s development.

He also said individuals or groups seeking to disrupt peace and social harmony, regardless of their community or background, are opponents of Madhesh’s development and should be socially boycotted.

Appealing to the people of Madhesh, Singh urged them not to support anti-social elements attempting to incite communal tensions. Instead, he called for collective efforts to promote long-term development through investment in education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture and youth employment.
