Supreme Court seeks original case file in Bishnu Paudel habeas corpus petition

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has ordered the submission of the original case file related to an ongoing money laundering case being heard at the Special Court in connection with a habeas corpus petition filed by Bishnu Paudel.

A joint bench of Justices Binod Sharma and Tek Prasad Dhungana issued the order to produce the original file of the money laundering case in which businessmen Shulabh Agrawal and Deepak Bhatta are defendants at the Special Court.

The court said it will proceed with further hearing of the writ petition after reviewing the original case documents.

The habeas corpus petition challenges Paudel’s detention in connection with the ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities.
