PM Balen Shah begins phased consultations with provincial lawmakers

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has started a series of phased consultations with lawmakers from all provinces, beginning with Karnali Province on Monday.

The Prime Minister held the first round of discussions with members of Parliament from Karnali, as part of a broader plan to engage separately with representatives from each province.

According to his secretariat, similar meetings will be held gradually with lawmakers from other provinces in the coming days.

The discussions are expected to focus on the overall situation of provinces, development progress, and key challenges being faced at the regional level. Strengthening coordination between the federal and provincial governments is also a major agenda of the consultations.

Following interactions with lawmakers, Prime Minister Shah is also preparing to hold separate meetings with chief ministers, provincial chiefs, and secretaries to further streamline inter-governmental coordination.

Chair of the Shram Sanskriti Party and lawmaker Harka Sampang, however, has announced a boycott of a meeting called by Prime Minister Balen Shah.
