12 injured in three-vehicle collision in Nawalparasi



NAWALPARASI: Twelve people were injured in a three-vehicle collision this morning near Hanuman Mandir in Gaindakot Municipality-9, along the East-West Highway.

According to Yubaraj Khadka, Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Sustapur), a bus (Lu Pra 01-001 Kha 0910) traveling from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu collided with a pickup van (Ba Pra 01-028Cha 5004) and a truck (Ba 3 Kha 3163), both heading towards Bhedabari from Gaindakot.

The drivers involved – 32-year-old Indra Tamang of Khandadevi Rural Municipality-4, Ramechhap (truck), 33-year-old Darshan Kapri of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-12, Chitwan (pickup), and 41-year-old Mohan Singh Balami Magar of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City-20, Banke (bus) – sustained injuries. In addition, nine bus passengers suffered minor injuries.

All the injured have been taken to Chitwan for treatment. Police confirmed that transport operations on the highway have now returned to normal.
