Balen Shah aide Dinesh Sitaula airlifted to Kathmandu after collapsing in Achham

KATHMANDU: Dinesh Sitaula, an aide to senior Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Balen Shah, has been airlifted to Kathmandu after collapsing during the party’s election campaign in Achham.

The 43-year-old, who is originally from Nuwakot, lost consciousness suddenly on Friday morning while accompanying Shah’s campaign team in Mangalsen, the district headquarters of Achham. He sustained a head injury after falling unconscious, and local doctors suspect internal bleeding.

Following the incident, a Nepali Army helicopter was dispatched from Surkhet to rescue him. Sitaula was first flown to Surkhet and then transferred to Kathmandu via an army Sky Truck for further treatment.

After Sitaula’s evacuation, Shah and his team resumed their election campaign, heading toward Dailekh via the Mid-Hill Highway, and will later descend to Surkhet.
