BAGLUNG: The death toll from floods and landslides in Baglung has risen to 12, while one person remains missing.
Over the past three days, 12 people have died after landslides buried houses at various locations in the district.
According to the District Police Office, two people died after a landslide buried their house in Sipa, Tarakhola Rural Municipality-5. The victims have been identified as 55-year-old Dil Bahadur Pun and his 79-year-old mother-in-law, Narmaya Roka, of Malika Rural Municipality-2 in neighboring Myagdi district.
Superintendent of Police Phanindra Prasai said Pun’s wife, two sons, and daughter-in-law sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The disaster toll has risen amid incessant rainfall across the district. One person died in Tarakhola on Saturday. On Sunday, four people died in Tamankhola Rural Municipality, one person went missing, and another five people died in Nisikhola Rural Municipality.
