NOC sends 40,840 litres of aviation fuel for flood rescue operations



KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has sent 40,840 litres of aviation fuel to the Nepali Army barracks in Nuwakot for helicopters involved in search and rescue operations following the flooding of the Bhotekoshi River.

Issuing a statement on Saturday, the corporation said it has been regularly supplying aviation fuel to the Nepali Army barracks in Nuwakot for rescue operations since Bhadra 10.

Helicopters have been refuelled from the facility for operations in the flood-affected areas.

According to NOC, 12,000 litres of aviation fuel were supplied on Bhadra 10, followed by 10,840 litres transported by helicopter and tanker on Bhadra 11.

Similarly, 9,000 litres were supplied on Bhadra 12 and another 9,000 litres on Bhadra 13, bringing the total supply to 40,840 litres.

NOC also said its Bagmati Provincial Office in Thankot had supplied 72,000 litres of petrol and 62,000 litres of diesel to petrol stations in flood-affected areas as of Bhadra 13.

Meanwhile, Nepal Gas Industry has provided 232 LPG cylinders to shelters in Nuwakot, while the LPG Gas Industry Association has sent 150 cylinders to Nuwakot and Rasuwa for relief operations.
