KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has urged everyone to refrain from engaging in heated debates, emphasizing that this is the time for all stakeholders to play their part in maintaining peace and social harmony.
Speaking to journalists after the all-party meeting held on Wednesday morning, Lamichhane said that both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister are actively carrying out their responsibilities.
He said political parties have taken the Sunsari incident seriously, adding, “The Prime Minister is doing what he should do, and the Home Minister is also fulfilling his responsibilities. This is the time to maintain peace and harmony, not to engage in heated discussions. The issue is not about who spoke or who did not speak; it is about ensuring that social harmony is not disrupted.”
Lamichhane also noted that the current protests differ from those held previously and stressed that everyone should treat the incident, in which a citizen lost his life, with the seriousness it deserves.
He further informed that all political parties would jointly issue an appeal calling for peace and social harmony.
