KATHMANDU: Budhanilkantha School has dismissed recent reports published in various media outlets and circulated on social media alleging physical and mental abuse of students, stating that the matter had already been investigated and addressed.
In a statement issued on Monday, the school administration said it had taken the allegations with utmost seriousness and conducted an impartial investigation. It added that the recommendations made by the investigation committee had already been implemented.
The school reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of physical, mental and emotional abuse, emphasizing that the safety, dignity, well-being and protection of children’s rights remain its highest priorities.
The Friends of Budhanilkantha School (FOBS), the school’s parents’ association, also expressed concern over what it described as the planned resurfacing of an old case involving a former student despite the completion of the investigation and implementation of the committee’s recommendations.
FOBS claimed that the image being portrayed through social media and some media reports does not reflect the actual environment of the school.
According to the association, it continuously monitors the school’s academic, physical and administrative activities and remains confident about the educational, physical and mental well-being of students studying at the institution.
Both the school administration and FOBS urged individuals and media outlets to refrain from disseminating what they described as baseless, exaggerated and misleading information on social media.
They warned that such activities could damage the reputation of individuals and institutions and said they would seek legal remedies if necessary.
The school also requested media organizations, parents and other stakeholders to contact the administration directly for official information regarding the matter.
