Govt to expand irrigation to additional 15,800 hectares



KATHMANDU: The government has announced plans to extend irrigation coverage to an additional 15,800 hectares of land in the upcoming fiscal year.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle made the announcement while presenting the budget for fiscal year 2026/27 in the Federal Parliament.

He said that following the expansion, irrigation facilities will reach 64 percent of the country’s total irrigable land area.
