Govt to integrate informal workers into social security system



KATHMANDU: The government has announced plans to bring workers in informal and unorganized sectors into the social security system by June.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle made the announcement while presenting the budget for fiscal year 2026/27 in the Federal Parliament.

He said the initiative aims to help resolve labour disputes and expand social protection coverage to workers who are currently outside formal employment systems.
