Government pledges swift exit from FATF grey list



KATHMANDU: The government has announced that it will work to remove Nepal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list at the earliest possible time.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle made the announcement while presenting the budget for fiscal year 2026/27 in the Federal Parliament.

Presenting the annual budget, Wagle said the government is committed to strengthening financial governance, improving regulatory compliance, and accelerating reforms required for Nepal’s exit from the grey list.
