Squatters stages protest at Maitighar demanding land rights



KATHMANDU: Members of the squatter community staged a protest at Maitighar in Kathmandu on Friday, accusing the government of forcibly displacing them and demanding protection of their land rights.

The protesters said they had been evicted from their settlements without proper alternatives and called on the government to ensure housing and land security for landless communities.
