Government orders complete ban on entrance exam prep classes and bridge courses

KATHMANDU:  The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has decided to completely halt bridge courses and entrance exam preparation classes that were running before school and higher education admission processes begin.

According to a press release issued by the ministry on Sunday, these programs will no longer be allowed starting from 1st Baisakh 2083. The ministerial-level decision was made on Chaitra 13, 2082.

The ministry stated that such programs, run by various institutions targeting admissions, negatively affect students’ psychology, hinder equitable access to education, and place unnecessary financial burdens on both students and parents.

District administration offices have been instructed to monitor compliance and take legal action against institutions found running these programs in violation of the directive.
