Sudan Gurung seeks police security citing safety concerns

GORKHA: The Gorkha district committee of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has formally requested security arrangements for its House of Representatives candidate Sudan Gurung, citing growing safety concerns during the election period.

In a letter sent to the District Administration Office, Gorkha, by RSP district secretary Milan Rana, it is stated that candidate Gurung, who is contesting from Constituency No. 1, is actively engaged in door-to-door campaigning.

The letter notes that based on various confidential information received, Gurung faces an increased personal security risk from groups of individuals allegedly carrying weapons. The party has requested the provision of necessary security, including a Personal Security Officer (PSO).

The RSP said it has drawn the administration’s attention to the potential risks during this sensitive election period, urging authorities to ensure peace, security and a free and fair election.
