Oli: Government actions not on track, failed to create environment for fair elections

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has held discussions with experts from various sectors as part of preparations for its manifesto for the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

During the interaction held at the party’s central office in Chyasal, UML Chair KP Sharma Oli shared his views on the party’s manifesto priorities.

Oli said the UML has been established as a strong, popular party with a robust organizational base, claiming that post-earthquake reconstruction was carried out in an exemplary manner under the party’s leadership.

He stated that the UML would provide leadership with high morale to rebuild the damage caused to nationalism, democracy and the constitution by the incidents of last Bhadra, while also strengthening national security and unity.

Accusing the government of failing to create an environment for free, fair and impartial elections, Oli said the party is closely monitoring the activities and conduct of state mechanisms.

Stressing that nationalism, sovereignty, national security and self-respect cannot be protected through surrender, Oli made it clear that resistance, protest and defense would be pursued if necessary.

He emphasized that no form of surrender would be acceptable.
The UML said it is preparing its manifesto by placing the country first, with a focus on ensuring public prosperity through development, good governance and sustainable growth.

Party publicity coordinator Meen Bahadur Shahi said the manifesto will include practical programs capable of delivering tangible results within five years.
