RSP General Secretary to lead parliamentary delegation to China

KATHMANDU: A 20-member delegation of lawmakers from the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), led by its General Secretary, Bipin Kumar Acharya, is set to visit China at the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

The delegation is scheduled to leave for China on November 15 and will spend 10 days visiting various Chinese cities and participating in several programmes, party leaders said.

The names of Acharya and lawmakers Lima Adhikari, Samiksha Bastola, Hari Dhakal and Sagar Dhakal have so far been confirmed for the visit. Acharya is compiling a list of lawmakers interested in joining the delegation.

He has also posted a message in the RSP lawmakers’ WhatsApp group inviting interested members to register their names. “Friends who are interested in visiting China, please write down your names,” an MP quoted Acharya’s message as saying.

The delegation will comprise only lawmakers from the ruling RSP. A team of 18 to 20 RSP parliamentarians is going on a 10-day visit at the invitation of the Chinese Communist Party, according to a RSP source. Although some names have been finalised, the full list is yet to be confirmed. The General Secretary has asked lawmakers to express their interest, he stated.
