KATHMANDU: Trucks have lined up across Kathmandu after the Prithvi Highway was blocked. The government had halted travel along the highway following warnings of heavy rainfall.
Truck queues have stretched from Kalanki to Balkhu for the past four days as floods and landslides have blocked highways in various parts of the country.
Landslides have occurred at several points along the highways, and efforts to clear the debris are underway. Trucks carrying food, daily essentials and commercial goods from the Terai and India to Kathmandu have been stranded in the area.
