Chinese President Xi Jinping sends condolence message to President Paudel



KATHMANDU: Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a condolence message to President Ram Chandra Paudel, expressing his sorrow over the recent devastating landslide and floods in Nepal.

According to the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, President Xi sent the message to President Paudel on Friday. Meanwhile, President Xi also convened an emergency meeting of the Communist Party of China on Friday. During the meeting, he directed officials to pay special attention to the barrier lake formed by the landslide during ongoing rescue efforts.

A flash flood along the Nepal-Tibet border on Wednesday caused extensive loss of life and property.
