POKHARA: A total of 102 bodies recovered from the banks of the Trishuli and Narayani rivers have been brought to Pokhara for examination and identification.
Assistant Chief District Officer of Kaski, Chitrangad Baral, said the bodies recovered by security personnel and local residents in Dhading, Gorkha, Tanahun and Nawalparasi East were brought to Kaski after the respective districts lacked adequate facilities to manage and identify the bodies.
According to Baral, 41 bodies from Nawalparasi East, 23 from Tanahun, 11 from Gorkha and 27 from Dhading were brought to the Western Regional Hospital in Pokhara on Thursday night.
He said nine bodies recovered from different locations in Tanahun were transferred to Manipal Teaching Hospital after undergoing examination at Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences.
