Heavy rain likely in parts of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali



KATHMANDU: Monsoon conditions are expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in several parts of the country, including parts of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather is generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions and partly cloudy in the Terai.

The Division said the weather will remain generally cloudy this afternoon in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country and in the Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. The Terai areas of Koshi and Madhes provinces will remain partly cloudy.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the mountainous region and at many places in the hilly region.

The Division has also forecast moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning at many places in the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, at some places in the Terai areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at a few places in the Terai areas of Koshi and Madhes provinces.

Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in the hilly and Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country and in the Terai areas of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, while the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces will remain partly cloudy.

The Division has stated that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning at a few places in the mountainous region and at some places in the hilly region.

Moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning is also likely at some places in the Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, at a few places in the Terai areas of Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few places in Madhes Province.

The weather bulletin further stated that heavy rainfall is possible at one or two places in the hilly and Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
