SURKHET: The Karnali Cricket Cup 2083 begins today in Birendranagar, Surkhet, with teams from eight districts competing in the provincial tournament.
Karnali Province Cricket Association Provincial Secretary Shridhar KC said the tournament will be held from June 28 to July 2 at the Kalunchowk Cricket Ground in Birendranagar.
He said the competition aims to promote cricket across all districts of Karnali Province, provide greater opportunities for players, identify emerging talent and contribute to the sport’s overall development in the province.
Teams representing Mugu, Kalikot, Jumla, Dailekh, Surkhet, Salyan, Jajarkot and Rukum West will take part in the tournament. The winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs 101,000, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs 51,000.
The Karnali Province Sports Development Council has provided Rs 2 million in financial support for the tournament.
