Nepal crash out of CAVA Women’s Volleyball Championship after semifinal defeat to Iran



KATHMANDU: Nepal have been eliminated from the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Championship after suffering a straight-set defeat against Iran in the semifinal on Thursday.

In the match held at the National Sports Council covered hall in Tripureshwor, Iran dominated Nepal 25-20, 25-15, 25-11 to secure a place in the final.

With the victory, Iran will now face Kazakhstan in Friday’s final.

Earlier on Thursday, Kazakhstan booked their place in the final after defeating India 3-0 in the first semifinal. Kazakhstan won the match 25-21, 25-17, 25-14.

According to the Nepal Volleyball Association, Nepal will now face India in the third-place playoff on Friday, while the final between Iran and Kazakhstan will also be played the same day.
