Health Ministry gets approval for 1,808 federal positions under new organizational structure

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene has received approval for a total of 1,808 positions under the federal bridge structure following the completion of its Organization and Management (O&M) survey.

According to the ministry, the positions were finalized and approved by the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation and the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration before being formally handed over.

The ministry stated that 977 new positions have been added to the existing 831 posts, bringing the total number of approved positions under the ministry to 1,808.

It said the approved structure significantly increases the number of specialist doctors across various fields.

Based on the newly approved positions, the ministry plans to begin phased open recruitment through the Public Service Commission in the near future.

The ministry clarified that the approved structure only covers positions under the “federal bridge staffing” framework.

It further stated that vacancies for technical support-level health workers, including CMA, AHEB, and ANM personnel, will soon be opened in large numbers under provincial and local governments.
