Over 3,500 suggestions received on draft Federal Civil Service Bill

KATHMANDU: More than 3,500 suggestions and feedback have been received on the preliminary draft of the Federal Civil Service Bill, formulated to strengthen and institutionalize the federal governance system.

Issuing a notice on Monday, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration said it is also collecting and analysing responses expressed on various social media platforms.

The ministry had published the draft on its official website on April 24 to seek feedback from stakeholders, civil servants and the general public.

To make the bill more effective, the ministry has formed a study team under the coordination of the head of the Administration Reform Division to systematically collect, review and analyse the received suggestions.

“The draft made public by the ministry is a preliminary version, and we are aware that there are areas requiring improvement,” the ministry said in the notice. “Before finalising the bill, suggestions received from concerned stakeholders will be studied and incorporated based on their relevance and justification.”

The ministry has also requested stakeholders to submit further feedback via email and WhatsApp to the study team, in addition to the responses already received.
