NCP congratulates PM Balen Shah, raises concern over government move

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Communist Party has congratulated Balen Shah, a senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, on his appointment as prime minister.

In a press statement issued by the party’s central office, the party welcomed the formation of the new government under Shah’s leadership following the House of Representatives election held on Falgun 21, 2082, in which his party secured a majority.

At the same time, the party drew attention to the government’s decision to implement the report of the commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki, which was formed to investigate the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24.

The statement urged the government to ensure that any action taken does not violate the rule of law, legal procedures, or the principle of impartiality, and warned against steps driven by political bias or those that could create conflict.

The statement, signed by Ganeshman Pun on behalf of the party, also advised the government to move forward in a fair and balanced manner without any sense of political retaliation.
