Manjil Rana terms black flag incident during Magar Diwas event as peaceful dissent

TANAHUN: Manjil Rana, candidate of the Ujyalo Nepal Party from Tanahun-1, has described the black flag incident witnessed during a Magar Diwas program as an expression of peaceful dissent.

Issuing a press statement, Rana said the youths had exercised their democratic rights to express disagreement in a peaceful manner. He stressed that citizens have a constitutional right to express their views peacefully and that such rights must be respected.

The statement also accused a group affiliated with Rabi Lamichhane of unnecessarily escalating tensions during the event. However, Rana urged all sides to exercise restraint and tolerance, emphasizing that political competition should take place within democratic norms and values.

The Ujyalo Nepal Party reiterated its commitment to a peaceful political culture and underscored the need to respect the voices of young people in a democratic society.
