Heavy snowfall in Baitadi and Baglung disrupts daily life

BAITADI: Heavy snowfall since early Wednesday morning has affected normal life in Baitadi district.

According to locals, snowfall has been recorded in high-altitude areas including Sigas, Khodpe, Anarkholi and Dholyamod. Local resident Raj Bahadur Tera said farmers are relieved as the snowfall is expected to benefit winter crops such as wheat. However, the cold wave triggered by the snowfall has disrupted daily activities across the district.

Similarly, heavy snowfall has also occurred in high mountainous regions of Baglung, including Dhorpatan. Snow has been falling continuously since last night, turning the Dhorpatan Valley and surrounding areas completely white.

Due to the snowfall, water has frozen in taps, and continuous snow has made movement difficult for local residents.

Along with Dhorpatan, snowfall has also been reported in Nisikhola areas such as Rig, Patihalne, Khanikhola and Nisel Dhor. Local farmers there have expressed happiness, saying the snowfall will help improve winter crop yields.
