Winning the Test Nation Franchise Trophy is a pleasure for me: Sandeep Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, who recently won the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), said he was delighted to lift the Test Nation Franchise League Champion Trophy.

Speaking after his return, Sandeep said he was happy to compete in the Test Nation Franchise League after a long gap and described winning the title as especially meaningful. “It felt great to return to the league after a long time, and winning the championship made it even more special,” he said.

He added that although he had limited opportunities, he tried to make the most of them whenever he was given a chance. In the BPL final, Sandeep’s team defeated Chittagong Royals by 63 runs to clinch the title. Batting first, Rajshi Warriors posted a total of 174 runs. In reply, Chittagong Royals were bowled out for 111 runs while chasing a target of 175.

Sandeep featured in four matches during the tournament, taking five wickets for 115 runs. Although he was the first-choice spinner in the opening matches, he did not feature in the playing XI in the latter stages of the competition.
