KATHMANDU: The initial minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley has risen sharply, climbing above 8 degrees Celsius from around 4 degrees Celsius a day earlier.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu was recorded at 8.5 degrees Celsius at 5:45 am today (Wednesday).
At the same time on Tuesday, the minimum temperature stood at 4.0 degrees Celsius. However, during the official measurement at 8:45 am, it dropped further to 3.5 degrees Celsius.
The official minimum temperature for today will also be recorded at 8:45 am, and meteorologists say it could be slightly lower than the early-morning reading.
Meteorologists explained that a rise in the minimum temperature generally indicates milder morning cold conditions.
