KATHMANDU: Thousands of passengers have been affected after traffic on the bridge over the Narayani River was suddenly halted.
The bridge was closed as a precaution after a cruise ship swept away by floodwaters became stuck underneath it, raising concerns about a possible risk to the bridge.
The sudden closure has left thousands of vehicles and passengers traveling to their destinations stranded.
Crowds of passengers and people who have gathered to view the bridge have been seen on both the Narayangadh side in Bharatpur and the Gaindakot side in Nawalpur.
