BANKE: Strong winds accompanied by continuous rainfall have damaged rice crops in various parts of Banke.
Hemraj Kandu, a farmer from Nepalgunj-19, Manipur, said strong winds damaged rice crops in most fields in the area. Rice crops in the field of Sujan Thapa in Duduwa Rural Municipality-5 have also been damaged.
Sujita Sharma, senior agricultural extension officer at the Agricultural Knowledge Center, said details of the damage had not yet been collected. According to the center, rice has been planted on 33,503 hectares of land in the district.
