KATHMANDU: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has extended his condolences to the families of victims of severe flooding in Nepal and China and wished a swift recovery to those injured.
“I am saddened by the severe flooding in Nepal and China, which has claimed many lives, left people missing, and caused widespread destruction,” the UN Secretary-General wrote earlier today on his X account, formerly known as Twitter.
Guterres also said the UN is supporting the government-led response, while UN teams and humanitarian partners are mobilizing supplies and personnel to support communities affected by the floods.
