Sunsari administration revises curfew zones, indefinite restrictions remain in force

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office (DAO), Sunsari, has revised the areas under an indefinite curfew following tensions in the district.

The administration had earlier imposed an indefinite curfew from 7:00 am on Monday covering five designated areas. However, a fresh notice issued later in the day altered the curfew boundaries.

According to the revised order, the curfew now extends from the boundary of Inaruwa Municipality Wards 3 and 6 at Ghotali Tol along the Mahendra Highway in the east to the Koshi Barrage bridge in the west.

The order also covers an area extending 200 meters north and south from the Mahendra Highway, the administration said.

The indefinite curfew was imposed following violent clashes in Dewangunj that prompted authorities to tighten security and restrict public movement.
