Flash flood risk in 22 districts, including Kathmandu, today



KATHMANDU: The Flood Forecasting Division has warned of a possible risk of flash floods in rivers and streams across 22 districts, including Kathmandu and surrounding areas, on Monday.

According to a bulletin issued by the Division on Monday morning, water levels in small rivers and streams flowing through Makawanpur, Sindhupalchowk, Kavrepalanchok, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Lamjung, Kaski, Tanahun, Baglung, Myagdi, Parbat, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East), Nawalparasi West, Bardiya, Darchula, Bajhang, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Doti, Kailali and Kanchanpur are likely to rise significantly.

The Division has assessed a moderate risk of flash floods in these areas due to the possibility of increased river flow and urged residents, especially those living near rivers and streams, to remain alert.
