Two children killed in car accident in Tanahun



KATHMANDU: Two children have died after being struck by an Indian-registered car along the Prithvi Highway in Tanahun district.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dwarika Prasad Ghimire of the District Police Office, the victims have been identified as six-year-old Sayana Thapa and five-year-old Uliyam Thapa, both residents of Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality-2.

The accident occurred at Markichok in Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality-2 on Friday afternoon while the children were returning home from school.

Both sustained critical injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Chitwan for treatment. However, they succumbed to their injuries on Saturday morning, police said.

Police are investigating the incident.
