Former ANFA president Karma Tsering Sherpa arrested



KATHMANDU: Police arrested former All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) president Karma Tsering Sherpa on Friday evening in connection with an alleged fraud and criminal breach of trust case.

A team from the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police apprehended Sherpa as part of an investigation into the alleged embezzlement of Rs 87.8 million from Tungaram International Academy in Hattigauda.

According to CIB spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police Anup Shumsher J.B. Rana, Sherpa is accused of misappropriating school funds and causing financial losses while serving as the institution’s executive head.

Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
