Reshmika murder case: three more youths arrested



KHOTANG: Police have arrested three more individuals on Tuesday in connection with the murder of 27-year-old Reshmika Pariyar of Chuichumma Rural Municipality-4, Diprung, Khotang.

The arrested have been identified as Heman Pariyar, 28, of Chuichumma-4, Batase; Deepak Shrestha, 25, of Chitapokhari; and Deepak Rai of Batase, whose age has not been disclosed. Reshmika was found dead on the night of Bhadra 30.

According to Police Inspector Nirajan Basnet, Information Officer at the District Police Office, the arrests were made following a directive from the High Court in Okhaldhunga for further investigation into the case.

He said the suspects have been taken into custody and investigation is ongoing.

Earlier, police had arrested a 16-year-old local on Asoj 1 on suspicion of involvement in the murder case and sent him to judicial custody on the order of the District Court.

The victim’s family had filed a petition at the Okhaldhunga High Court, naming three additional individuals in connection with the case. Following the petition, the court had ordered the District Police Office to carry out further investigation.
