Deuba congratulates Balen on becoming Prime Minister

KATHMANDU: Former Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has congratulated senior Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Balendra Shah on his appointment as Prime Minister.

Currently abroad, Deuba extended his best wishes for a successful tenure to Prime Minister Shah and also congratulated all members of the newly appointed cabinet.

According to the agreement with CPN-UML, Deuba would have assumed the prime ministership after KP Sharma Oli. However, following the Gen-Z movement on September 8 and 9, 2025, Balendra Shah was appointed Prime Minister with nearly a two-thirds majority in the House.
