Sudan Gurung tipped for Home Ministry; DP Aryal in line for Speaker role

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balen Shah has intensified preparations to reshape the Council of Ministers, with discussions underway within the ruling party.

Sources say Sudan Gurung is being considered for the post of Home Minister, with efforts ongoing to build consensus around his appointment.

At the same time, a parallel discussion is underway to appoint Dol Prasad Aryal, a close aide of RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane, as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Although a formal agreement has yet to be finalized, party insiders say internal discussions within the Rastriya Swatantra Party have largely converged on appointing Gurung as Home Minister and Aryal as Speaker.
