The candidates are senior Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) leader Balen Shah, CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet, Shram Sanskriti Party Chair Harka Sampang, and independent candidate Nicholous Bhusal.

Balen Shah is contesting from Jhapa-5, Mahesh Basnet from Bhaktapur-2, Harka Sampang from Sunsari-1, and Nicholous Bhusal from Rupandehi-2.

According to the Commission, complaints were filed claiming that the candidates’ public statements violated the election code of conduct, prevailing laws, and democratic election procedures. Based on these complaints, the Commission has instructed the concerned candidates to submit written clarification within the specified timeframe.
