CHITWAN: The Chitwan National Park Office has issued a warning for heightened vigilance in the park and nearby regions due to an increased risk of flooding and inundation caused by continuous rainfall.
Avinash Thapamagar, the park’s information and conservation officer, noted that the Narayani, Rapti, and Riu Rivers, along with several smaller rivers in the area, are expected to experience high water flow, leading to potential floods, riverbank erosion, and a greater risk of inundation.
The park is calling on its staff, local user groups, community forest committees, youth squads dedicated to anti-poaching efforts, as well as local residents and visitors, to stay informed about weather conditions and to take necessary safety precautions.
The park administration has made an appeal for everyone to avoid rivers, streams, and other hazardous areas during this adverse weather and to be prepared for any potential disasters. (RSS)
